For weeks now, we have been bombarded with the back to school flyers featuring backpacks, lunchboxes, shoes, books, and supplies.
However, there is one big arena that gets very little attention when school starts--it's the kitchen arsenal! Every year before my children head back to school, I try to take stock of my kitchen equipment and ready those tools that help me crank out meals with a minimum of effort. I purchased mine about three or four years ago and it's been an amazing investment. It is high-quality and cooks evenly. On any given day, I can load that cooker with basic ingredients that are transformed into something more by the afternoon. I have found this cooker to be immensely helpful because if I make a soup, chili, stew,or even a lasagne in it earlier in the day, there is often something warm and comforting ready when my children come crashing in the door afterschool.
